Tron Legacy Quorra Banner

Check out a few selections below:

Kevin Flynn: {First lines} The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they traveled through the computer. Ships, motorcycles. With the circuits like freeways. I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day... i got in. |permalink
Clu: Out there is a new world! Out there... is our destiny! |permalink
{to the two DJs in the club}
Castor: Change the scheme! Alter the mood! Electrify the boys and girls if you'd be so kind. |permalink
Clu: Your move, Flynn. Come on! |permalink
Quorra: Your father was the creator.
Sam Flynn: Where do I find him?
Quorra: Make it there alive. And he'll find you. |permalink
Sam Flynn: What am I supposed to do?
Siren Jem: Survive. |permalink
Alan Bradley: Sam, I was paged last night.
{holds up the pager for Sam to see}
Alan Bradley: The page came from your dad's office at the arcade. That number's been disconnected for twenty years! |permalink
Sam Flynn: Who are you?
{the stranger's helmet opens to reveal Clu's face}
Sam Flynn: Dad.
{Clu steps up to Sam}
Clu: I'm not your father, Sam. But, I'm very very happy to see you. |permalink

What the Fock? Little Fockers Nabs Top Spot at Box Office

This Christmas proved to be sluggish compared to last year, representing a 44% drop in ticket sales compared to 2009.Little Fockersproved to be this year's Christmas breadwinner, bringing in a lackluster $34 million over the holiday weekend.

Little Fockers Cast

The Coen Brothers'True Gritremake landed second with $25.6 million over the weekend, but counting its Wednesday and Thursday receipts, the film comes in at a hearty $36.8 million in its first five days. Not bad for an R-rated western.

Tron Legacydropped to third, earning only $20.1 million in its second weekend, while the lukewarmNarniasequelThe Voyage of the Dawn Treaderplaced 4th with $10.8 million and the much malignedYogi Beardropped to fifth, bringing in only $8.8 million.

  1. Little Fockers- $34,000,000
  2. True Grit- $25,600,000
  3. Tron Legacy- $20,100,000
  4. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader- $10,800,000
  5. Yogi Bear- $8,800,000

Voyage of the Dawn Treader Leads Lame Box Office Weekend

Maybe everyone was too busy doing something productive (probably not) or just saving up for this coming weekends' releases, particularlyTron Legacy, but few people went to the theaters this past weekend, signaling a rough December for Hollywood.The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treaderlanded on top of this weekend's heap with an anemic $24.5 million opening. Hardly the box office draw that's going to pay for the film's clearly large budget. Regardless, expect to see television spots touting"#1 Movie in America"sound bytes.

Chronicles of Narnia Aslan Poster

Not faring much better, the Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp pairing couldn't saveThe Touristfrom limping into second with $17 million. The purported $10 million budget makes this a particularly foul turd.Tangleddropped to third with $14.5 million, followed byHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowswith $8.5 million.Unstoppablerounded out the top five with $3.7 million.

What you don't see are compellingly strong numbers from Darren Aronofsky'sBlack Swan, which expanded to 90 theaters this past weekend and raked in about $3 million. David O. Russell'sThe Fighterhas also done well in limited release, making $320,000 from only four locations. We consider this a win for lower-budget filmmaking and hope the trend continues. If you're also getting tired of the same old sequels and remakes, let us know!

Take a closer look at the top five numbers below:

  1. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader- $24,500,000
  2. The Tourist- $17,000,000
  3. Tangled- $14,559,000
  4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1- $8,500,000
  5. Unstoppable- $3,750,000
