Reel Movie News'Golden Globe 2011 Predictions: Round 3

We're now into round 3 of Reel Movie New' 2011 Golden Globe prediction special!  Today we're predicting which men will bring home the gold in the best actor categories.  We'll also make a prediction in for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical - we're into the big leagues now!  Here we go...

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE - COMEDY OR MUSICAL

1. Johnny Depp -Alice in Wonderland
2. Johnny Depp -The Tourist
3. Paul Giamatti -Barney's Version
4. Jake Gyllenhaal -Love and Other Drugs
5. Kevin Spacey -Casino Jack

Our Prediction: Johnny Depp -Alice in Wonderland

Considering Johnny Depp is nominated twice in this category, it's even more likely he will be the one to take home the golden prize.  And he's not going to do it forThe Tourist.  I'm not sure why either of the lead actors were nominated for that one. However, Depp's role inAlice in Wonderlandwas quirky and brilliant.  He did a great job as the mad hatter - really channeling the"mad."  Paul Giamatti was very good inBarney's Version, but I don't think it quite beats out Depp's charisma in his role.

Your turn!

WHO WILL WIN THE GOLDEN GLOBE FOR BEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY OR MUSICAL?

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA

1. Jesse Eisenberg -The Social Network
2. Colin Firth -The King's Speech
3. James Franco -127 Hours
4. Ryan Gosling -Blue Valentine
5. Mark Wahlberg- The Fighter

Our Prediction: Colin Firth -The King's Speech

This category has five great performances, so it's going to be a tight race.  James Franco was brilliant in 127 Hour, which he was pretty much the only starring role.  Jesse Eisenberg is getting a lot of critical praise for his role inThe Social Network, but it's Colin Firth who takes the cake. Firth is amazing as King George VI trying to overcome a stammer and he is getting the recognition he deserves already for playing that role.  It doesn't seem to be stopping at the Golden Globe Awards.

BEST MOTION PICTURE - COMEDY OR MUSICAL

1. Alice in Wonderland
2. Burlesque
3. Red
4. The Kids Are All Right
5. The Tourist

Our Prediction:The Kids Are All Right

This category is pretty scarce this year - Burlesque, seriously?  They were really grasping at straws.  The Kids Are All Right seems to be the only choice in a category filled with mediocre films.  Alice in Wonderland was pretty good too and has a shot, but The Kids Are All Right is the only comedy worth critical praise.

What do you think?

	Burlesque

In an interview with The LA Times, Granik says she is very interested in bringing strong, young women to the big screen.

“People are finding these heroines charismatic, unexpected and fresh.  What a person in the business can get from that is,‘Hey, a young female protagonist doesn’t need to have a boyfriend, get pregnant, cut herself or be naked to attract an audience.’”

The film was originally supposed to be a on-screen version of the video game Grand Theft Auto, but the game's production company wouldn't sell the rights to Fox. But after four years of development, we now have a revamped version of the script and it sounds pretty thrilling actually.

This will be Eminem's first feature film role since 2002's8 Mileinspired by his own life.
